Imprinted Concrete

Imprinted concrete (also sometimes known as "pressed concrete") is probably the hardest-wearing surface you can get for your driveway or patio.

Concrete is poured into a base and large mats with a pattern on the underside are pressed into the wet concrete, producing a patterned surface, often giving the appearance of individual stones having been laid when in fact the concrete is all one piece.

The concrete is coloured at the time of laying and with skilful use of Sealer Tint we can bring this colour back. However, we only use Sealer Tint if it's really necessary! If used in over-large quantities, it can actually be detrimental to the overall restoration job.

Our procedure to restore Imprinted Concrete is usually:
  • Clean the surface using our large rotary-headed cleaner and professional equipment
  • Leave to dry
  • If required, apply Crack Repair Compound to any cracks (these need to be larger than hairline cracks otherwise the repair compound won't fit into the crack.)
  • Apply 2 coats of Smartseal™ Imprinted Concrete Sealer with a sealing broom
